『닐스의 신기한 모험』은 스웨덴의 작가 셀마 라게를뢰프가 1906년에 집필한 아동 문학 소설이다.  이 작품으로 셀마 라게를뢰프는 여성 최초이자 아동문학 최초로 1909년 노벨문학상을 받았다. 동물을 괴롭히며 지내던 닐스가 어느 날 요정의 마법에 걸려 다람쥐만한 난쟁이가 되어 거위 모르텐을 타고 기러기떼와 스웨덴을 일주하는 모험을 그렸다.

The Wonderful Adventures of Nils is a work of fiction by the Swedish writer Selma Lagerlöf. The novel is one of Lagerlöf's most well-known books, and it has been translated into more than 30 languages.

The book is about a 14-year-old young lad, Nils Holgersson. He takes great delight in hurting the animals in his family farm. Nils captures a tomte in a net while his family are at church and have left him home to memorize chapters from the Bible. The tomte proposes to Nils that if Nils frees him, the tomte will give him a huge gold coin. Nils rejects the offer and the tomte turns him into a tomte, which leaves him shrunken and able to talk with animals. The animals are thrilled to see the boy reduced to their size and are angry and hungry for revenge. While this is happening, wild geese are flying over the farm on one of their migrations. Nils holds on to, the farm's white goose, Martin's neck as he takes off and joins the wild birds.

Selma Ottilia Lovisa Lagerlöf (1858-1940) was a Swedish author and teacher. She was the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, which she was awarded in 1909.
